Weld-On Solvent cements and Acrylic Adhesives

A pioneer and leading manufacturer of Weld-On® solvent cements and adhesives. Powerful adhesive technology you can trust to meet all your demanding acrylic jointing application. Specifically formulated to meet the needs of industrial applications, Weld-On industrial grade solvent cements contain a higher percentage of the most penetrating solvents and the highest quality resins which, in conjunction with the use of an industrial grade primer, produce the deepest fusion in the contact area between the pipe and fitting, and fills gaps with the correct cell class resins.

Weld-On® 4 acrylic adhesives

Weld-On® 4 is a water-thin cement formulated to develop clear bond within minutes.  It is less likely to leave white marks (commonly called blushing) with significant and increased strength reached over several hours.

SUBSTRATE RECOMMENDATIONS

A blush-resistant cement for bonding acrylic (poly-methyl methacrylate) to itself.

Also Check Substrate Match

BONDING RECOMMENDATIONS

The bond is achieved by first softening the surfaces to be joined and then fusing them together with dissipation of the solvent. Strong butt joints are made with flat sheets by using the soak method for such applications as cementing letters to acrylic panels.

Used extensively for fabrication and cementing of:
  • Acrylic letters to flat presentation panels
  • Display & presentation cases
  • Medical equipment assembly
  • Trim capping of cutout letters
  • Plastic containers & pre-forms
  • Solvent welded structures & subassemblies using the capillary method

Weld-On® 16 acrylic adhesives

Weld-On® 4 is a water-thin cement formulated to develop clear bond within minutes.  It is less likely to leave white marks (commonly called blushing) with significant and increased strength reached over several hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Weld-On® 16 is a medium-bodied, clear solvent-type acrylic cement with very high strength. The fast curing time means some parts may be handled within a few minutes when applied to cast, molded or extruded acrylics. Bond strength continues to develop very rapidly reaching a substantial level and forming strong joints within hours.

SUBSTRATE RECOMMENDATIONS

Especially formulated to bond acrylic (poly-methyl methacrylate) plastic. Also effective for bonding styrene, butyrate, PVC, ABS and polycarbonate, and porous plastic surfaces.

Also Check Substrate Match

BONDING RECOMMENDATIONS

Weld-On 16 is recommended as an excellent general purpose, high strength acrylic cement. Joints are water and weather resistant and will generally have similar physical and chemical properties to acrylic plastic. This product can be thinned with Weld-On 3 by approximately 10%.

Advantageous when fast cure and high strength are desired for applications such as

  • Large housings
  • Signs
  • Plastic letters
  • Industrial fabrications
  • Display items and models
  • Lenses
